Want to get work as an OT in Berlin

Hi everyone
I was wondering if any one could offer some advice about securing work in Berlin. I know no German whatsoever but was wondering if there were any opportunities available for english speaking OTs like myself? I would like to move in summer 2020.
Any info or advice would be very welcome. Case of itchy feet!

Hi Laura123 , did you end up moving to Germany? Do you have any advice? Did you learn the language and how long did it take to learn enough to practice?

Hi Laura,
I am german and currently working in the UK. If you wanna work in Berlin you definitely have to speak fluent German. Unfortunately you don't have any chance to work as an OT in Germany without speaking the language.

Hey Laura,

I think it’s great you are (were?) interested in working in Germany.
However, there are hoops to jump through, as you may have found out. You need to get a license (as in your qualifications need to be checked and certified), which isn’t cheap but manageable I think. You need to contact the ministry of health in the federal state you‘d like to be working in.

As it is, it might be difficult to find something without speaking German. But in a city like Berlin, I think there may be opportunities. If you‘d like, you can send me a short statement about what you‘re looking for and I could post it to a German OT group on facebook?
