I work as an OT Technician in Worcestershire UK. I work for a small team called the Mobile Assessment Unit which involves driving around worcestershire in a little van stocked with equipment assessing patients in thier own home and providing aids and adaptations. This service is funded by the NHS so patients do not pay a penny. It would be interesting to about other services and find out more about what OT is like in other countries.
