Jstamp Hi all, my name is Javan Stamp I qualified as an OT in the UK (2013) and have recently moved to Canada and gained my registration here in Alberta. My area of specialism is Mental health. Since qualifying I have worked with all age groups in many different settings including secure and acute hospitals, community early intervention psychosis, wilderness therapy and currently within the school system as a social and emotional educator. I'm interested in OT mental health interventions in other countries, especially countries where the cultural and economic availability of treatment/support is potentially limited. I would love to hear from anyone with experience within these countries (either lived or visited). If anyone wants any information regarding my experience of the move and process of gaining registration in Canada please ask away. Happy to be a part of this forum and to help where I can. All the best, Javan
JessicaEllis Hi Javan, I see your post was a while ago but I am hoping you are still contactable on here! My name is Jess and I have recently moved to Canada, BC from the UK. I gained my MSc in OT in the UK and an currently working through the stages of the SEAS process. I was wondering how you found the experience, did you complete the SEAS or move before it was required? I am in the process of booking in my CA and was hoping for some hints or tips! Any advice would be HUGLEY appreciated. Warmest, Jess
Jstamp Hi Jess, sorry, it's been a while since I was on here. If you still have questions regarding the SEAS program, hopefully you've complete and moved on. If you still have questions I am around. Take care, Javan
