Hello,
I am a 2nd year OT student in the United States that is interested in researching how to advocate for the OT profession to work in palliative care for cancer patients. Essentially, I envision the profession to be one of the main health care professionals in helping cancer patients when they are newly diagnosed, undergoing treatment, as well as helping them with their cancer related disability after treatment. I am a cancer survivor myself and found a great need for OT. I am curious about the opinions/ideas of others in their views on this issue. Where is the road block and is this an issue only found in the US? How are other countries helping cancer patients with OT?
Thank you!
