Greetings. My family is taking care of a baby of my sister who died at child birth in 2019. the baby just turned 3 this january of 2022. my sister was 39. the partner was 60 years. they were living in different countries
we have been taking care of the baby and by the time he was 2 years and a half we noted delayed speech and lack of eye contact. we took him to a developmental paed who recommended occupational therapy and later speech therapy, diet prescription and social interactions.
but now we have been taken to court that occupational therapy should stop and we should not take baby to play group. We should instead switch to ABA for 8 hours a day 40 days a week for 2 years. meaning even at age 5 baby will still be at home doing ABA all day. Baby is never awake for 8 hours a day at this age of 3 years. Also, baby has made tremendous improvment with OT already.
What is your advise?
