Welcome to the online forum related to people displaced by climate change. I am Tamara Barboza, an occupational therapist practising in the United States, with experience in preparing for and responding to disasters and co-author of WFOT manual on disaster risk reduction. Approximately 1.2 billion people could face displacement by 2050 due to climate change caused by extreme weather and resource scarcity. Occupational therapists have a role to play in resettling people affected by climate change. Please share your ideas, comments, and experience for the benefit of the global occupational therapy community.
For other learning resources on this topic, there are options for small activities through WFOT's microlearning - Climate migrants: Assessing needs; Developing a client profile; Creating a welcome pack.
