Climate change significantly impacts the Social Determinants of Health, exacerbating issues such as undernutrition, infectious diseases, and heat stress. Degradation of environmental and social determinants of physical and mental health, such as clean air, water, soil, food systems, and livelihoods are worse off with climate change. To address this, governments and organizations must prioritise sustainable economic recovery paths to reduce inequalities and improve human health. Additionally, climate resilience should be a global effort to ensure that health systems can adapt to climate-related disturbances.
For those impacted, culturally responsive and rights-based solutions zooming on access, resources, and opportunities for meaningful equitable participation in life should be prioritised.
