My name is Madita. I am 29 Years old and I am an occupational therapist from Germany. Currently, I am working in a therapeutical café in the psychiatric clinic. The café is a small business run by occupational therapists, where people with mental health issues can improve and recover their work skills and their self-confidence to get back into their daily jobs.
In 2019, I completed my professional education and finalized my exams in occupational therapy in Germany”. One year later, I completed my bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) in interdisciplinary health care with a specialization in occupational therapy.
For private reasons, I will potentially move to Denmark (Copenhagen) next year. Therefore, I would like to inform myself at an early stage about the conditions for people from Germany who would like to work as an occupational therapist in Denmark. I would be very happy, if anyone could provide me with some information on how to get an approval of my exam .
What requirements do I have to fulfil to work as an occupational therapist in Denmark?
Are there areas and jobs where it is possible to work in English language or is Danish usually always required?
Does anyone have any expirience on the approval of a german exam?
Is there a better chance to find a Job with a master degree and do you recommand any master courses?
I would be very pleased to receive an answer and would be grateful for any tips and advice on this subject.
Best regards and many thanks in advance,
Madita
