I have a bachelors degree in OT and have been working as an OT for 4 years.
I am looking at moving overseas to work and looking to gain understanding of countries where by degree would be transferable. In some countries it looks like you need a masters?
Places I’m considering relocating/gaining experience are:
Japan
California
Southern Europe - Spain, Italy, Greece, or Portugal
Other parts of Europe - France, Netherlands
Costa Rica
I understand language proficiency would be a requirement in all the non English speaking countries?
I’ve had a look in different countries where English isn’t first language and have found many private practice English speaking psychologist and psychotherapy services, however not much in the OT space. I work predominantly in the mental health space and enjoy private practice.
What are the requirements to be an OT in the countries mentioned above? Also, if it’s worth me upskilling in the mental health space?
