Good afternoon all!
I am starting the final year of my Msc (pre-reg) in Occupational Therapy and will be undertaking a research project as part of the degree.
My project is looking at 'what makes occupations restorative' and I am focusing on the age group 18-34. Using Howell and Pierces' (2000) definition: ‘Restorative, or restful, occupations serve to renew depleted energy resources and result in an improved physical and mental state, with feelings of regeneration during and after participation’. I am looking to collect primary data via face to face semi-structured interviews.
Does anybody know of any research studies that have looked at similar, or does anybody have any awareness of projects looking at restorative occupations that are in the pipeline? Equally - does anybody have any experience / thoughts / ideas / suggestions they'd like to share with me? I'd be delighted to hear from you!
Many thanks in advance,
Lydia
