Have any practicing occupational therapists noticed a community that has occupational needs? I have noticed there are tons of voluntary organisations setup to help people in various domains. The question is why would a community specifically need an occupational therapy intervention rather than a generic one from 'anybody'. We are an expensive commodity. How do we set ourselves apart from everyone else?
For example, I noticed there are many immigrants that are growing older in many countries. There are already services available to help them but what could an occupational therapist bring that would enhance the services already there?
