Hello, I am an occupational therapist in the US and I am looking to work in Moldova, a smaller country in Eastern Europe bordered by Romania and Ukraine. I traveled here in my early twenties and was inspired to switch from psychology to occupational therapy. My goal has been program design to support youth who are "aging out" of orphanages and end up, presumably, on their own at age 16 in an area with poor economy and high child trafficking rates.
Is there anyone else out there who have had success working internationally?
There are so many barriers, such as language, Licensing, conducting a formal needs assessment, and of course getting connected to locals and the right resources.
Kindly,
Katie
