Hello,
my name is Ina Roosen. I am an OT from Germany and currently the German delegate for the WFOT.
I am working as a Research Associate at University of Applied Health Sciences in Bochum, Germany, in the Bachelor's Programme of Occupational Therapy. Before that, I worked as an OT in the field of pediatrics (more than 10 years of experience).

I am looking forward to connect with colleagues from all over the world.

Kind regards,
Ina

Hi everyone, my name is Anaswara and I am currently a student in a masters OT program in New York, USA. I have been thinking of working abroad in Europe (maybe Italy?) at some point after I graduate in 2024. I have a lot more time left until I graduate but I figured I would start asking others about their experiences.

Hi! My name is Aly and I currently work in pediatrics and adolescent mental health in Nova Scotia, Canada. I completed a student placement with Amar Seva Sangam in India in 2020. I am looking to further broaden my OT skills within the global health context and am curious about where to find job opportunities to work as an OT in different countries! Thanks!

HI there, My name is Maria and I am an OT from Spain. My degree was completed in 2016 and I checked in the webside that Talavera de la Reina (UCLM) was registered in WFOT in 2017 just a year after mine. I have paid my membership as OT in Spain and I wonder if there is another way to get the access easily.

Currently , I have been in Ireland for 5years and I am looking for a job in Australia.

Is there somebody who can help me??

      thanks in advance,

      regards,

      Maria

Hello! My name is Rachelle and I am an AOTA member and WFOT member just recently. I know this thread was from a few years back, so not sure it is still active, but my question is about working as an OT overseas. I’m wondering if anyone here knows of early intervention pediatric OT positions over in Europe? Thank you for your guidance

        Hi All,

I am connecting here and reaching out to see if there are any occupational therapists working in Oman. I have recently moved to Muscat and am doing some networking and connecting before I figure out how I want to set myself up professionally.

I am a pediatric OT with 14 years experience, Proficient DIR Floortime Provider and PLAY project consultant with training in sensory processing and integration, parent coaching, NDT for ASD, children's yoga, iLS, therapeutic listening etc.

Please do reach out and respond if you wish to connect. I think there are not many of us here practicing and I would love to liaise in person and online with others in the region.

        Hi Helene,
I'm Philomena and try to get an internship in the UK. I've tried to upload a post but it doesn't load. Do you (or anybody else in the forum) know what's wrong?

Here's my post (sorry I can't load my own discussion):
        Hi everyone,
my name is Philomena and I am studying occupational therapy in Cologne, Germany. Currently I am in my practical year which conists of four internships in different areas of occupational therapy. I have already completed the areas of paediatrics and psychiatry. I had great fun during these first two phases and believe that I already made good progress for my practical education and future career. I received a lot of positive feedback from the clients and my mentors which additionaly encouraged me. My 3rd internship is already scheduled and will be in a special garden for handicapped people.
For my 4th and last internship I would like to go abroad. My prefered country for hat would be the UK as I believe that Britain is among the leading countries in the theory and application of occupational therapy.
This final internship should be in one of the remaining areas. This could be neurology, orthopaedy or geriatry. The projected period is Jul 17 to Sep 29, 2023.
I’m an open-minded person with a lot of patience and motivation. If there is an opportunity for me of getting an internship in any city of the UK, I would be very grateful.

        Hello everyone,
My name is Vivienne. I am an occupational therapist from South Africa. I completed a 4 year Bachelors degree and have worked there for the last 5 years.

I have recently moved to USA with my husband and am trying to figure out how to get registered here. My understanding is that I need to get a Masters? Could anyone help me understand the process on how to register and who are the right people to speak with. I did get my degree certified by a federally recognized company in the USA and it deemed my degree equivalent to a Masters degree in America but had no luck with getting permission to take the board exam.

I would love to hear from anyone who has had any experience with this as well as anyone currently working in the USA. I would really appreciate some information about how OTs work here in comparison to South Africa.
