Firstly, we would like to thank everyone who has provided their feedback on the OTION User Survey. We have taken your feedback into account when working on the new OTION forums. The new OTION forums were created with ease of use and improved participation in mind. This new platform gives us the flexibility to make many improvements to OTION going forward.

Although things may look different, starting and joining discussions should be as easy as before. A full user guide is being developed and will be shared with OTION members soon.

Your existing OTION account

If you have previously registered on OTION and have participated in discussions, you should be able to log in using your existing email and password. If you can't remember your password, please click "Log In" above and then "Forgot Password".

If you have previously registered on OTION but have not participated in discussions, you will need to register again. Simply click "Sign Up" to create an account.

New features

Follow discussions

You can now “follow” discussions to receive an email whenever someone replies. You will also be notified whenever someone directly mentions you in a discussion. Notifications can also be found by clicking the bell icon at the top of the page, next to your username.

Mentions

You can now mention other OTION members by typing "@" followed by the member's username. The member will receive a notification that they've been mentioned. In your account settings, you can choose how you would like to be notified when someone mentions you.

Likes

Show your appreciation to other members by clicking "Like" under a reply. You can also choose to be notified when someone likes your reply.

Languages

You can change the interface to your preferred language from the dropdown at the top of the page.

When starting a new discussion, you can now specify a language by clicking the language at the top of the editor. This will encourage other OTION members to reply to your discussion in your native language.

You can find discussions in other languages by using the language filter above the list of discussions.

Is your native language missing? Let us know and we'll do our best to add it to OTION.

We encourage discussions to take place in English. This allows more members to participate but also helps us moderate the forums more effectively.

User Profiles

Promote your occupational therapy skills and experience and let other OTION members learn a more about you by completing your profile. This is optional and can only be seen by other registered members, however, if you prefer not to share this information, you can simply leave the form blank. The information you provide is protected by the WFOT’s Privacy Policy.
